Research shows that up to 90% of cancers are caused by environmental factors. Our Type B projects focus on man-made chemicals present in the South African environment.

The research projects are of a short term and conducted by research experts who are CANSA consultants or employees of research institutions, private enterprises or higher degree students.  

The financial year of our research funding projects is from 1 April to 31 March.

Almost R400 000 worth of funds have been allocated towards our Type B and Type C research projects for 2009/10 and we anticipate to raise an additional R800 000 by the end of March 2011.
